Follow the current path from application and suitability assessment to basic training and appointment.
Apply through the Swedish Police
The police region where you are registered handles the application for training and appointment. You may request a course and location, but a place is not guaranteed before an invitation.
Complete the application
Processing starts when the application fee is registered. Evidence of Swedish 1 or equivalent is required, and applicants with certain residence abroad may need additional criminal-record documents.
Pass the suitability process
Record checks, physical tests and a personal interview form part of the assessment. Suitability is reviewed throughout the process and continues to be assessed during service.
Training comes before appointment
Applicants who pass the tests and suitability stage may be invited to basic training. A successful course result and continued suitability are required before appointment.
