Tactics
Communication and conflict reduction
Practise calm, clear and tactically safe communication for pressured scenarios.
Read the scene first
Assess people, distance, exits, objects and the wider environment before approaching. Good positioning creates time and space for communication.
State purpose and expectation
Use short, understandable messages: who you are, what you observed, what the person needs to do and what happens next.

Listen for change
Tone, body language and additional people can change the risk picture. Reassess continuously and request support early when control is decreasing.
Record observable facts
A report should separate what you saw and heard, what instructions were given and why each action was selected.
