Training
How the 160-hour basic training works
Understand duration, current fees and why knowledge must be paired with supervised practical training.
At least 160 lesson hours
The Swedish Police states that basic training contains at least 160 lesson hours over about four weeks. Three days use its learning platform, although local scheduling may vary.
Knowledge and practical ability
The course develops both understanding and operational skills. Reading must therefore be combined with the training, practice and assessment delivered by the Police.
Two separate fees
The current application fee is SEK 990 and the basic course fee is SEK 12,500 including VAT. Verify both amounts on the official page before paying.
Plan for the full period
Allow time for preparation, distance days, attendance and recovery. The app supports knowledge review but does not replace course attendance or practical assessment.
