Reporting
RAKEL, NOVA and traceable reporting
Practise information discipline from duty notification to an objective intervention report.
Keep communication relevant
Use the correct channel and provide location, event, hazard, resource need and current action. Keep private or unnecessary detail off the radio.
Separate observation from conclusion
Record what you saw, heard and did in sequence. Mark information from another person and avoid loaded labels.

Capture the reason for decisions
A report should explain why the measure was needed, what alternatives were considered and how proportionality and observation were managed.
Follow current system procedure
RAKEL, NOVA and duty reporting are taught by the Police. Study content never substitutes for authorisation, security rules or current instruction.
