Know what is permitted
The current sample assessor pack allows a monolingual simplified dictionary or glossary for reading tasks. Your centre's current instructions control on assessment day.
Do not look up every word
Use context first. A dictionary is most useful when one key word blocks the question or changes the required action.

Protect time for all tasks
Use 15 minutes per task as a guide. Mark a difficult item, continue, and return only if time remains.
Answer the reading question
The assessment targets reading, not perfect spelling. The sample marking guidance says spelling is not penalised when meaning is clear, but the answer still needs to communicate the correct meaning.
